Parade Ground

Parade Ground in Fort Kochi is a large open ground that was used by the Portuguese, the Dutch, and the British for conducting military parades and drills. The buildings surrounding the parade ground used to house their barracks, depots etc. This ground hosted three Colonial powers and on Independence Day in 1947 the Indian Flag was hoisted on this ground.
