DISHA

Community-based rehabilitation Centre

DISHA started its journey in the year 1997 as a Centenary project of the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Cochin. The vision of the office bearers, at the time, was to provide early intervention to children with disabilities, from 0 to 6, in and around the vicinity of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry.

As time went by, DISHA realized that its role needed to change to cater for a wider group in the Community. DISHA transformed itself to a CBR (Community Based Rehabilitation) centre for training and rehabilitation of young Persons with Disability – to enable them to become an equal part of the world around them as a right “in this world of perfectionists”.
