The 121st Annual Session of the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held at the Chamber auditorium on 28th September 2018. The Chairman of Cochin Port Trust Mr. A V Ramana was the Chief Guest for the session. President Mr. Rajesh Agarwal delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Export awards for 2017-2018, K R Mehta memorial essay writing competition awards, M K Mehta memorial Ever rolling shield, Special ward for Kerala Flood rescue operation and ICCI certified corporate Trainer awards were given out during the session. Vice-President Mr. Madhusudan Gupta proposed the vote of thanks
 
Thai Consulate Visit

K R Mehta Memorial Essay Writing Competition

The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised the Yearly K R Mehta Memorial Essay Writing competition for College students in Kochi on 7th September 2018. A total of 9 colleges participated in the essay writing competition. This year's Topic was, "The man who uses yesterday's methods in today's world will not be in business tomorrow".
 
Great Indian SME Yathra 2018

The Indian of Commerce & Industry, Cochin partnered with the Great Indian SME Yathra 2018 to felicitate selected SME’s in Cochin for their contribution towards the sector. The event was held at Hotel Raddison Blu, Elamkulam on 19th July 2018. Indian Chamber President Mr. Rajesh Agarwal spoke on the occasion.

Chellanam Calamity relief

The Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Cochin handed over bed sheets, towels and biscuits to the calamity camp at Chellanam LEO Public School. The heavy rains had made around 150 families in Chellanam area homeless. Around 600 people are now camped at the calamity centre, unsure about their future plans. The evacuated area is contaminated due to inefficient sewage and drainage set up, which increases the risk of contagious diseases. The health department will have to ensure hygiene pre-requisites before the people at the camp could go back to their homes. The continuous rainfall is delaying the process at present. Indian Chamber President Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, after handing over the supplies to the camp informed that the Chamber and its members will be in touch with the camp and will provide more support if need be.
 
Vegetable Garden Contest

Goshree Harithamrith Cultural Society in association with the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry organised a Vegetable Garden Contest at the Indian Chamber Hall, in an effort to promote toxic free vegetables during the Onam season. The contestants were all given 5 growbags of quality seeds for the competition. Mr. K J Maxi, MLA Inaugurated the function. President Mr. Rajesh Agarwal delivered the Keynote address. President informed the gathering that the Indian Chamber is re-launching the ever-rolling trophy for the best vegetable garden form this year onwards. Smt. Gracy Joseph, Cochin Corporation Standing Committee Chairperson for Development, Shri. Devdas S Kamath, President, Goshree Harithamrith Cultural Society and Shri. Siji Varghese, Deputy Director, Krishi Bhavan, Ernakulam were also present on the occasion.
